Joe Hamway / Deejay Personality

Joe Hamway first got into DJing when his friend brought home a small DJ controller during winter break from college. Joe found it fun to mess around with the controller, and it quickly became an interest. He was inspired by the music of Daft Punk and Swedish House Mafia—and after experiencing the club scene in New York City and Philadelphia, he fell in love with the energy DJs create through their music.

Some of Joe’s favorite electronic acts today are Keinemusik, Fred again.., Black Coffee, Ben Böhmer, Sara Landry and so many more. He enjoys the underground vibe, sound and overall atmosphere of dance music culture, often referred to as rave culture. So far, Joe has played gigs at Factory Records in Dover and Salty’s Beach Bar in Belmar, NJ, just for fun. Even though DJing is a side hobby, it brings him joy to mix music and curate experiences.
