Randibeth Gallant
Randibeth Gallant shows
On a summer day at Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ the Grateful Dead, Marshall
Tucker Band, and New Riders of the Purple Sage took the stage and forever secured
another music fan.
The concert attracted over 150,000 attendees, made the front page of The Star Ledger,
and produced a CD: Dick’s Picks, Volume 15.
For Randibeth, it was the start of a love for music that was as powerful back then as it is
today. Attending concerts, making mix tapes for friends, and building a vast collection of
recordings led her to hosting her own radio show – one that feeds the soul.
After the passing of Jerry Garcia in 1995, she took a deeper dive into the bluegrass
scene upon the recommendation from her brother, Ricky. He turned her on to the likes
of Tim O’Brien, Sam Bush, Leftover Salmon, Doc Watson and many others. It was an
acoustic sound that electrified an immediate love and helped fill a music void.
Three years later, the New Grass Attack show debuted on WNTI 91.9 FM. For over a
decade the airwaves were filled with songs of new grass, bluegrass, celtic, zydeco,
blues, and of course, the Grateful Dead.
Fast forward to present day….Randibeth returns to where it all began with her show –
The Rock & Grass Attack! A new mix including all the bluegrass favorites from Alison
Krauss to Billy Strings, blues picks from the Allman Brothers to Tab Benoit, and rock
gems from Eric Clapton to the edgy vocals of Brent Smith.
Tune in every Thursday, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm where listeners can look forward to
hearing favorite songs and discover new treasures.
