The Trevor B. Power Show welcomed Andy B. and friends into the studio on November 16th.
I met Andy B. at a private party given by a mutual friend of WNTI a few years back. The New Brunswick and regionally area favorite. The VooDudes, were playing. I hoped the time would come when we would be fortunate enough to have Andy B., and a few of his musician friends come up, and play some really cool Bluesy, Rootsy, FolkRockin, Country, Gospel, good old American Dance Hall Music for us Live in the WNTI Studios once again.
The WNTI 55 years of Broadcast Excellence CD 2013 featured The VooDudes, and The Andy B.AND. There is a history with the Station.
Well that time has come with Andy’s newest Solo Release: ANDY B.AND “My Roots are Showing.”
Since being the front man from 1990 with The VooDudes, Andy Felt he had enough material of his own that didn’t quite fit The VooDudes styles, and thus “My Roots are Showing.”
A well recorded album, that encompasses quite a bit of what are the Roots of American music.
Blues, Country, Folk-rock, Gospel.
Andy is a great story teller and with the help of his VooDude bandmates and other very talented players and singers, he clearly hits a nice stride with this solo effort. Andy’s gravely baritone vocals are so crisp and clear you would think he was actually there in your living room. All the instruments that color coat each number are very pleasing to the ear. The Background vocals on this record are superb.
The Album is very enjoyable to listen to on any given day, or evening, and if you like any of the genre’s aforementioned, you will enjoy this album.
