Trevor B. Power interviews former tour manager Sam Cutler

Trevor B. Power met Sam Cutler a few years ago at his book signing, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” it was time to have Mr. Cutler join Trevor live on the air from Australia. Sam’s storied career travels through many highlights as former tour manager of The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, and several other notables. Alexis Korner, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, The Band.
Only in his 20’s Sam organized the first successful free concert at Hyde Park, London UK, with Blind Faith which lead to the Stones Memorial show for Brian Jones Death at the same venue in 1969.
Crafty and Daring he became the Stones tour Manager for their 1969 American Tour, which ended after the ill-fated Altamont Concert. He then went on to a successful run with The Grateful Dead from about 1969 till his departure in 1974.
At 75, Sam is a legend in the Rock and Roll Business. From his stories of early life in London to coining the phrase referring to the Stones as “The Greatest Rock & Roll Band in the World”, and beyond, are most enjoyable to listen to.
